Aebangembnts foe Drawing ; Manual, Commercial, and Technical Instruction ; Gymnastics, Drill, Swimming, etc. Manual : Drawing—Geometrical, one lesson forty-five minutes per week ; freehand and model, one lesson forty-five minutes per week ; modelling in plasticine, one lesson forty-five minutes per week during last two terms. Commercial : Book-keeping and shorthand, each two lessons thirty minutes per week. Gymnastics, &c. : Physical drill, one lesson thirty minutes per week; military drill, one lesson fifteen minutes per week ; swimming is encouraged by the granting of certificates of proficiency.

4. Scholarships. The Board of Governors gave free tuition to seventeen scholars.

During the past year both the schools have maintained their progressive standard of excellence, and the attendance has been maintained. The buildings are in good repair. Miss Bailey having resigned the cooking class, Miss O'Brien has been appointed in her place, and an application will be forwarded for her recognition by the Department. The Board at its last meeting passed a resolution expressing their satisfaction at the good shooting made by the cadets, which, under the superintendence of the headmaster and assisted by his staff, obtained excellent results.
