OEDERS OP REFEBENOB. Extracts from the Journals of the House of Representatives. Wednesday, the 3bd Day of Judy, 1901. Ordered, "That Standing Order No. 211 be suspended, and that a Committee, consisting of thirteen members, be appointed, to whom shall be referred the Faotories Bill and oertain other Bills more particularly referring to labour; five to be a quorum: the Committee to consist of Mr. Arnold, Mr. Bollard, Mr. Collins, Mr. Ell, Me. Hardy, Mr. Hutcheson, Mr. Laurenson, Mr. Millar, Mr. Morrison, Mr. Palmer, Captain Russell, Mr. Tanner, and the mover."—(Rt. Hon. R. J. Seddon.)

Wednesday, the 10th Day op July, 1901. Ordered, " That the name of Mr. Barclay be added to the Labour Bills Committee."—(Rt. Hon. R. J. Seddon.)

Friday, the 12th Day of July, 1901. Ordered, " That the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Bill be referred to the Labour Bills Committee." —(Rt. Hon. R. J. Seddon.)

Friday, the 2nd Day of August, 1901. Ordered, " That the Factories Bill be referred to the Labour Bills Committee."—(Rt. Hon. R. J. Seddon.)

EBPOETS. Industeial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Bill. The Labour Bills Committee, to whom was referred the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Bill, having duly considered the provisions of the said Bill, have the honour to report that they recommend the Bill be allowed to proceed subject to the amendments shown in a copy thereof attached hereto. Ist August, 1901.

Factories Bill. The Labour Bills Committee, to whom was referred the Factories Bill, have the honour to report that, having taken a mass of evidence and bestowed much consideration on the probable operation of the provisions of the said Bill, they recommend that the Bill be allowed to proceed subject to the amendments shown on a copy of the same attached hereto. [For Evidence, vide Appendix L-β.] 3rd October, 1901.

Nos. 634, 863, and 864.—Petitions of Henry Davy and 37 Others, John Maine and 5 Others, and B. Mokrison and 16 Others. Petitioners, on certain alleged grounds, protest against the passing of the Factories Bill. The Labour Bills Committee, having given due heed to the representations set forth by petitioners when giving consideration to the provisions of the Factories Bill, have now the honour to report that they have no recommendation to make, 22nd October, 1901.
