COCOANUT-OIL CAKE (PARTICULARS AS TO IMPORTATION AND MANUFACTURE OF).

Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 13th August, 1901. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a roturn showing, for the year ending the 31st March, 1901, — (1) The amount of coao&nut-oil cake imported into New Zealand; (2) the amount of imported oil-calo carried on the railways, and the rate charged; (3) the rate of duty charged on imported cake; and (4) the amount of oilcake manufactured in New Zealand, sold in New Zealand, carried on the railways, and the rate charged."— (Mr. J. Bate charged on imported oil-cake carried on New Zealand railways: Charged at Class D rates, New Zealand Bailways scale of charges. Bate of duty charged on imported cake: 20 per cent. Oil-cake manufactured in New Zealand. Amount of oil-cake manufactured in New Zealand : No information available. Amount of oil-cake sold in New Zealand : No information available. Amount of oil-cake carried on New Zealand railways : 116 tons 3 cwt. Eailway rate charged on oil-cake manufactured in New Zealand : Charged at Class E rates, New Zealand Bailways scale of charges.
