CENSUS OF NEW ZEALAND.

The population of the colony according to the census of the 31st March last, as made up from enumerators' summaries, is shown in the following tables. Details have been carefully examined, and the figures given may be regarded as closely approximate to the exact population now being made up in this office from the household schedules. E.
