MORTGAGES REGISTERED IN THE COLONY (PARTICULARS OF) DURING 1889-1900.

Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 3rd July, 1900. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return showing the number and total amount of mortgages registered from the 31st March, 1899, to 31st March, 1900, the different rates of interest at whioh such money was advanced, and the districts in whioh the mortgages were registered ; also the number and total amount of mortgages paid off in each district during the same period, being a continuation of H.-48 for the year 1898-99 ; and inoluding like particulars to those furnished in H.-17, and H.-17a, of 1896."—(H0n.
