1899. NEW ZEALAND.

RAILWAY DISTRICTS (PARTICULARS REGARDING RAILWAYS IN THE SEVERAL).

Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the Ist August, 1899. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return showing, in respect of the railways,—(l) The divisions into distriots for management purposes; (2) the mileage of railway-lines in each district; (3) the approximate quantities of goods carried in each district; (4) the number of wagons allotted thereto. Such return to show, separately, (5) Stock carried and wagons allotted for same ; (6) ordinary goods carried and wagons allotted for same. The return to be for the twelve months ending the 30th June, 1899." —(Mr. J. Allen.)
