VOLUNTEERS AND CADET CORPS (RETURNS RELATIVE TO).
Returns to Orders of the House of Representatives dated the 2nd August and 6th September, 1898. Ordered, "That there be laid before this House a return of the Volunteer corps whose services have been accepted during the last three months, giving the localities furnishing the corps, their respective strength, the dates of application and acceptance ; also similar particulars respecting the proposed corps whose, services have been rejeoted, the return giving in each instance the reason for rejeotion."—(Mr. Hogg.) Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return (in continuation of return in Appendix H.-35, 1896) showing,—(l) The number of cadet corps in the colony and the strength of each corps on the 31st March last— (a) the name of each corps and the primary public school with which it is connected, (b) the name of each corps and the college or secondary school to whioh attached; and (2) the number of cadet corps, showing name, strength, and locality of each corps, popularly known as cadet corps, unconnected with any primary public school, college, or secondary school." —(Mr. Joyce.)
