The gold returns from this district for the last year show a slight improvement on the previous year, but owing to the depressed state in which this field has been for some years past it will yet take some time before any great increase in the yield of gold may be expected. Had it not been for the largely increased yield of gold from the May Queen Mine last year, there would have been a falling-off instead of an increase.
