Four visits of inspection have been made by Mrs. Neill and myself during the year. On each occasion everything was found in good order. The management as a whole, and the nursing organization are very satisfactory. Various minor nursing details were pointed out and remedied. A new laundry has been provided at a cost of £2,500. The kitchen arrangements are still in the old unsatisfactory position, and it is a matter of some difficulty to find a remedy. The proposal to build a new operating theatre, and take the existing theatre for kitchen purposes seems a very costly scheme, when it is remembered that only a few years ago the theatre was built in the wrong place at a cost of over £1,500. The thriving medical school gives this institution an interest and importance peculiarly its own, and it is very gratifying to find that it is so efficient in all its departments.
