MORTGAGES REGISTERED IN 1894-95 (DETAILS OF).

Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 6th September, 1895. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return showing—(l) the number of mortgages registered within the year ending the 31st March, 1895; (2) the total sum of advances comprised in such mortgages ; (3) the rates of interest, showing the total amounts respectively advanced at 5, 6, and 7 per cent., or any other rate of interest."— (Hon. Major Stewabd.)
