LAND, LOAN, AND BANKING COMPANIES (RETURN OF), AS OWNERS OR TRUSTEES OF LAND IN THE COLONY, WITH AREA AND VALUE.

Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated 25th June, IS9O. Ordered, " That a return be laid before this House giving the names of the several land, loan, and banking companies returned, under the last property-assessment valuation, as owners or trustees of land in the colony, showing in each instance the area, locality, and value of such lands, together with the amount in each instance to which such land, loan, or banking companies appear to be interested, and the amounts payable by each as property-tax in respect of such lands."—(Mr. Hutchison.) (Note—The Commissioner is precluded by section 6 of "The Property Assessment Act, 1885," from supplying the information required in the last paragraph of the order.—J.
