AKAROA HOSPITAL. This institution was found to be in good condition and well managed. The rooms and bedding were neat and clean. A new kitchen, store-room, scullery, and porch have been built, which greatly add to the fitness of the building for the purposes of a hospital. Mr. Penrose, the master, has himself repaired and distempered the whole interior, so that it looks much more cheerful than at my last visit. The salaries received by the master and his wife amount to £100.
