I am directed to report as follows : That as the petitioners do not appear to suffer any great hardship from the marriage-laws the Committee has no recommendation to make.

Petitionees pray that the South Island Native Eeserves Act may be repealed, and that they be allowed to deal with their lands as they think best. Petitionees complain of the action of the Ngatituwharetoa Tribe in the Euapehu, Tongariro, and Ngauruhoe Blocks, as they allege a portion of that land belongs to them. lam directed to report as follows: That the petitioners having furnished no evidence in support of their petition, this Committee has no recommendation to make. 31st May, 1888.
