Saint John Vincent Day, of 115, Saint Vincent Street, Glasgow, in the County of Larnack, North Britain, Civil Engineer and Patent Agent.—An invention for improvements in the maufacture of packs or bags for holding and conveying wool. 1351. Daniel Murphy, of Springlands, Wairau, in the Provincial District of Marlborough, New Zealand Flax-miller.—An invention for stripping or first fibering New Zealand flax (Phormium tenax). 1352. 6th January. Paul Joske, of Suva, in the Colony of Fiji.—An invention for making beverages, to be called " Joske's Patent Kava Beverages." (Not proceeded with.) 1353. Bth January. John Eeid, of Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand, Clerk.—An invention for an improved means of straining wires, and allowing them to be conveniently secured after being strained, to be called " Eeid's Patent Triplex Wire-strainer." 1367. 28th January. Edward Chase, of Crofton, in the County of Eangitikei, New Zealand, Blacksmith.—An invention for a new agricultural implement, the same being called a " Scarify Harrow." 1368. 28th January.
