5. Sickness. —The percentages and averages, as shown in the following table, for the ages 20 to 50, vary so little in the two quinquennial periods there compared that there is reason to suppose that the percentages and averages for the decade represent approximately the rate of sickness which may be expected in the immediate future. For all ages above 50 the number of years of life under observation is as yet insufficient to give much value to the percentages and averages resulting:—
