I am happy to be able to report most favourably of the general good conduct of the members of the Field force; offences, except some trifling breaches of discipline, being, I may say, unknown. The casualties in this branch during the past year were 126, made up as follow: Transfer to Militia staff 1, recruits to police 24, resignations 32, reduction of force 53, expiration of service 2, discharges 8, dismissals 2, medical unfitness 1, and by deaths 3.
