ADULT MALE POPULATION OF EACH ELECTORAL DISTRICT (RETURN SHOWING).
Return to an Order of the House of Representatives, dated zt,th May, 1882. Ordered, " That there be laid upon the table a return showing the adult male population of each electoral district, the number of electors on the rolls, the total number who voted in each contest at the late general election, and the number of votes for the successful and unsuccessful candidates respectively."— (Mr. George.)
The Census of 1881 was taken and compiled to show the adult male population of the then existing electoral districts. The populations of the present districts, as stated in the return, have been arrived at by calculation, not by a complete re-com-pilation, and must therefore be considered only as a closely approximate estimate.—Wm. R. E. Brown, Registrar-General,
