No. 1. Copy of a DESPATCH from the Eight Hon. the Earl of Kimberley to the Officer Administering the Government of New Zealand. (Circular.) Sir,— Downing Street, 22nd October, 1880. ' ' I have the honor to transmit to you, for the information of your Government, a copy of a paper showing the proposed route of the detached squadron, consisting of H.M.S. " Inconstant," bearing the flag of Eear-Admiral the Earl of Clanwiliiam, C.8., and four corvettes—namely, " Bacchante," Tourmaline," " Carysfort," and " Cleopatra."
