I have the honor to submit the following report of the proceedings of the Civil Service Examination Board for the year ending 30th June, 1878. DECEMBER, 1877, EXAMINATION. One hundred and thirty-eight candidates applied to be examined; 121 candidates presented themselves for examination; 98 candidates underwent, and 49 passed the Junior examination; 35 candidates underwent, and 13 passed, the Senior examination.
