This is now claimed by the half-caste children of Maxwell, and a Grant will probably be made in their favour. This claim was originally disallowed, but was re-opened before Commissioner Fitzgerald, who reported in favour of the children of Maxwell for a grant oi Motutapu Island, if £20 due to the Natives were paid. No grant was ever issued. Pre-emption certificate issued to Williamson and Crummer over part of the claim. This claim was extremely complicated, in consequence of the issue of pre-emption certificate issued to Williamson and Crummer. (See^os/ 1 No. 1265.)
