Beside the above, a few grants to Pensioners under the Queen's Regulations, have been stated to be made under the Eleventh Section of the "Waste Lands Act, 1858," as being in fulfilment of promises made upon the enrolment of the men in question These promises are however anterior in date to the " passing of the ' Waste Lands Act, 1858' by the Colonial Legislature." This office being not charged with the delivery of Crown Grants to the Grantees themselves, there is uo means of completing the information called for without eommmiicating with the several Provinces. The information shall be called for. Crown Lands Office, Ckosbie Ward, Auckland, 6th August, 1861. Secretary for Crown Lands.
