Misses J. Gilbert and V. Roach, of Hamilton, who have been nursing at j Kew Hospital, Invercargill, for the . past year, left Hamilton today to take \ up nursing positions in Fiji. Auckland Girl on Way to Greece Miss Elizabeth Roberton, of Auckland, who sailed from Wellington near the end of October for relief work in Greece, arrived at Cairo on December 1, according to a cable message received at the Dominion Guide Headquarters in Hastings. The team of Guiders for Malaya is now bound for Sydney, when they will tranship for Singapore. j New Zealand Girls for Far East New Zealand girls are to go to j China and Japan as workers with the j Y.W.C.A. Welfare Service. Miss | Betty Lorimer has arrived at Hong- ' kong where she has established a base for Servicewomen, and Miss j Phyllis Hindle has written that she j will be accompanying Miss Muriel i Wilson to Japan, where Miss Jean ; Begg will plan for the establishment of clubs for Servicewomen attached to the Allied armies of occupation. Another New Zealand worker. Miss Lorna Blundell, has been transferred from Bengal to the Y.W.C.A. service , club in Singapore. Hamilton W.C.T.U. Year’s Work j The Hamilton Women’s Christian j Temperance Union held its annual I meeting on December 6, Mrs W. Gat- | man presiding. The meeting opened ; with devotions, union pledge and temperance fact. Mrs Stephenson- ' Craig gave a resume of the past year’s ; work and referred to the high ! spiritual value of all meetings, the j increase in membership and maintained interest in all departments, j The Cradle Roll report by Mrs j Tucker was outstanding and the treasurer’s report satisfactory.
