HOSPITAL ESCAPEE
SEARCH NEAR OTOROHANGA FARM HOUSE INTRUDER A man believed to be Colin David Jarvis, who escaped from the Auckland Mental Hospital on November 22, was seen at Honikiwi, nine miles from Otorohanga, yesterday afternoon. The police were given this information by Mrs H. Everett, of Honikiwi, at 6 p.m. last night. Mrs Everett heard a noise in a room in her house and upon calling to investigate she received no reply. When she walked into the room she saw a man running away. Mrs Everett ran to the shed where her husband was milking, but when they returned the man had disappeared. A police party under Constable E. T. Martin searched the vicinity, but found no trace of the man. From Mrs Everett’s description he had a beard and was wearing a hat. A pound of butter and a large piece of cake were missing from a table in the house. The search was continued today, police from Te Kuiti assisting.
