TRAFFIC OFFENCES
FINES IMPOSED TOTAL £2O July 24 was a busy day for several traffic inspectors in the Hamilton district. A further batch of prosecutions for offences revealed in a check made on that day was dealt with by Mr S. L. Paterson, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court, Hamilton, today. Inspectors A. E. Hodgson and ‘k. R. i McD. Sharpe, of the Transport De- j | partment, and Inspector G. G. | j Winter, employed by the Waikato j j County Council, handled the cases. ! Fines imposed today totalled £2O, | ; but not all the charges related to ! offences on July 24. ! For failure to produce a warrant I iof fitness the following motorists j were fined 10s. Thomas Bennett Foster, of Matangi: Albert Johnson Hus- | ton, of Hamilton; Noah Reynolds, of { . Hamilton; William Leslie Smith, of ! Hamilton; Arnold Alfred Blakely, of’ , Hamilton; David Campbell, of Ham- j ilton: Russell H. Cooper, of Whiti- I ora; Fred V. Cutts, of Gordonton; I Roy Kemp, of Frankton; Gordon H. I Ross, of Hamilton; Colin Tuck, of! Hamilton, and James F. Wymer, of j Hamilton. Driving without a license resulted j in fines of 10s being imposed on I Henry Lee, of Hamilton; Harold Theodore Shaw, of Tauwhare; Alfred S. Buckland, of Fairfield; George Geoffrey Callis, of Hamilton and Geoffrey E. Fairburn, of Hamilton. Fines of 10s on each charge of j driving without a license and withi out a warrant of fitness were in- | dieted on Christopher Altham, of ; Claudelands, Bert Brant, of Hamil- ! ton. Charles Harris, of Hamilton, ■ Stanley L. Miers, of Hamilton and Frank Miller, of Hamilton. Isobel | Uden was fined 10s on the first ; charge and ordered to pay costs on j the second. Richard R. Kingdom of Frankton, was fined £2 10s for driving at the speed of 50 miles an hour on the Hamilton-Cambridge road on August j 14. Anthony H. Radford was fined ;£3 for possessing faulty brakes. It ! was stated that his hand brake was useless. John William Buckley, of Hamilton, was fined 10s for using a vehicle with an obscured number plate on June 8.
