AIR RAID OBJECTIVES •A GUAM, July 13 The northernmost point of Japan previously hit by American aircraft is Sendai. 190 miles north of Tokyo, which Super-Fortresses fire-bombed on Tuesday. The present operation, in addition to pursuing the destruction of Japan's remaining air strength, at present estimated to total about 9000 planes Including 4000 trainers and obsolete types, will achieve two more objectives—first, the complete reconnaissance of an area which the Americans have not had opportunity of exploring since the beginning of the war. EXTENSIVE DISRUPTION WELLINGTON, Saturday The Post Office reports that all lines between Kaikoura and Christchurch, Christchurch and Timaru, and Christchurch and Greymouth are seriously disrupted. All available emergency radio channels from Wellington to Christchurch, Awarua, Dunedin and Timaru have been opened.
