WEDDING

PRIEST—PHILLIS The wedding was solemnised recently at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Hamilton, of Olwyn Mary, onjy daughter of Mr and Mrs R. S. Phillis, of Hamilton, and Percival Thomas Victor, son of Mr and Mrs V. W. Priest, of Hamilton East. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. H. Olds. During the signing of the register a solo “I Walk Beside You” was rendered by Miss H. Fear. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a Victorian gown of ivory embossed cloquette. Her embroidered veil, which was worn over the face entering the church, was held in place by a spray of chrysanthemums, and she carried a shower bouquet of white chrysanthemums, roses and maidenhair fern. Miss M. Irvine and Miss P. Aulen, who attended the bride, wore frocks of embossed turquoise blue cloque. They carried bouquets of autumn tinted flowers and wore coronets to match. The best man was Mr W. Livingstone and Mr A. Dawson was groomsman. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a horseshoe from her cousin Leanne McLaughlin. The reception was held at the Centreway Tearooms, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, assisted by the mother of the bridegroom. The bride travelled in a tailored blue check costume with matching coat and black accessories. Mr and Mrs P. T. V. Priest will make their home in Hamilton.
