If the lawnmower. however, is sharp and set high, it is not likely to pull out many of the young grass plants. A careful watch for perennial weeds must be kept; dock, plaintain (broad-rib), dandelion and daisy should be cut out as soon as they are recognised. Annual weeds will have no chance if the lawn is frequently cut. and if the sowing of grass was reasonably thick.
