POLISH POLITICS
FREEDOM OF CHOICE (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Friday The Polish Consul-General in New Zealand, Count Wodzicki, has received a copy of the following statement issued in New York by Mr Charles Rozmarek, president of the Polish-American Congress “There is only one legal, Polish Government recognised as such by the Allied Nations with the exception of Russia. The Polish Government in London has the solid backing of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Polish underground movement. Poles under Russian occupation are not free to express their choice of Government, neither are Polish soldiers under Russian command, whose families are kept in forced captivity in Siberia. With them, it is a case of do or die. “The Lublin committee is a Russian agency, created by Russia for Russia’s sole benefit. By imposing a government of Red quislings upon the Polish people, Russia is denying the Poles the right to shape their future. Six million Polish Americans recognise the Polish Government in London as the only legal spokesman of the Polish people.”
