DRAFTED TO THE ARMY NEW YORK, Jan. 4 The Washington correspondent of the New York Times says MajorGeneral Hershey, director of selective service, has acceded to the request of Mr J. Byrnes, director of war mobilisation, on behalf of -Mr Roosevelt to draft farm workers. State draft directors have been instructed to re-examine all deferred farm workers from 18 to 25 years of age. This will affect 364,900 men. Mr Byrnes said Army and Navy demands for men would exhauat those eligible in the % to 25 group at an early date.
