One Bankruptcy

One bankruptcy petition was filed in Hamilton la£t month. In September, 1943, there were no bankruptcies. Remittances Overseas Arrangements similar to those of last year have been made for sending remittances to servicemen and servicewomen overseas for the Christmas and New Year period. The maximum amount that may be remitted overseas in any one year L> £4O. The Minister of Finance, the Hon. W. Nash, said he would urge that money be lodged at a bank before November 25. The remittance year for First and Second Echelon troops of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force commenced on June 1 and for all other personnel from the date of embarkation. For those who had again gone overseas the year commenced from the date of re-embarkation.
