Comment on Running Night Comedy, who ran a creditable race In the big handicap last week, was produced for the first time over the hurdles today and after moving through to be almost ou terms with winning Tary at the turn carried on to score narrowly from the latter with the Improving Sir Fox closest or the others. Lucky Alex wan a moderate Tourth. Lucky Alex led early, but Winning Tray was taken to the front within a couple of rurlongs to lead past the stands from Paymaster, Glnno, Lucky Alex, Peter Douglas and Flying Eagle. Along the back Night Comedy moved up into fourth and he was practically on terms with Winning Tray as they levelled up lor home In rront of Glnno, Aero King, Sir Fox and Gayjax. In a good finish Night Comedy got the verdict by a short bead rrom Winning Tray with Sir Fox two lengths away in front or Lucky Alex. Then came Gayjax and Aero King. The Taumarunul Stakes was run In two divisions, Fencourt finishing attractively on the outer to win the opening division rrom Richelieu and Theoress. Richelieu led early rrom Saffron, Walden and Meerlove. with Theoress, Alrpler and Fencourt next. Kalata ran up second across the top and followed Theoress Into the straight, with Saffron Walden, Richelieu and Fen court the closest of the others. Fencourt. finishing on, got up on the outer to beat Richelieu by a neck with Theoress half a-length away. Alrpler was the closest or the others.
Playfellow won the second division In a tight finish with Chevallta and Convallarla. Leigh Hark was slow to move and Advance Eagle snowed out early rrom Jovial Lad, Beau Slrl, Bonny Baf and Pay Acre. Advance Eagle showed the way to the turn rrom Jovial Lad and Beau Slrl, with Playfellow handy and Landfall and Pay Acre next, with Chevallta coming on the outer. Playfellow won by a short neck at the end rrom Chevallta, who beat Convallarta by hair a length. Gaymeer looked to have the Ngarea Handicap In sare keeping inside the distance but the favourite, Hazroy, finishing on, managed to get up and make a deadheat or It. Cheval de Batallle was slow to move and Hazroy Jed early, showing out along the back from Gaymeer, Rara Avis, Stock Exchange, Skydonna, Phaleron Sign, Gentry and Betterman. Rara Avis followed Hazroy Into the straight and this pair was in charge here from Gentrv. skydonna, Phaleron Sign and Betterman Gaymeer was In charge Inside the distance but Hazroy got up to make a deadheat or it and Gentry was three-quarters or a length away third. Manuma, finishing on, was Tourth with Rara Avis the closest of the others.
Won from end to ond Esmonde won the first division of the Plplroa Hack rrom end to end. Earlv he was followed by Gold Stand and Sousa and along the back Esmonde was showing out from Gold Stand, Hunting Mac and Golden One, Sousa having drifted back Esmonde was clear at the home turn end ne carried on to win well by a length and a-hair rrom Gold Stand, with Jovial Hour a neck away Sousa was fourth There was a spectacular finish in the second division when Embassy and an outsider in Marlnoto staged a spectacular finish for the rormer to get the verdict bv a short head. Romance was withdrawn prior to the start and Prakash led early from Brome, Irish Fox, Blonde Gipsy and Em,on<?.e , Gipsy and Marlnoto. In the hack and led Into the straight rrom shepherd’s Mate, Prakash, Irish Fox Embassy, Blonde Gipsy and Marlnoto' -in a good finish Embassy beat Marlnoto L / a short head with Irish Fox a length and a away. Shepherd’s Mate weakened Into fourth.

BuS Peach and Air Port in that order There was no alteration along the back, but three furlongs from home Billy Peach shot through on the rails to take the lead and show the way Into the straight rrom Tiger Tan. Full Hand. Air Port and Wildore. In a great finish Billy Peach shook off Air Port to beat him bv a short head. The improving Royal Musk waa five lengths away third and Full Hand was fourth.
