Oil in Britain
Natural petroleum is being produced in Britain at the rate of 700,000 tons annually. This was stated by the Minister of Fuel and Power,
Major G. Lloyd George, in reply to a question in the House of Commons. Animal Welfare
A campaign for promoting animal welfare, in which the cause of animals will be brought before the public, will take place, throughout New Zealand next week. Since
1928 a World Day for animals has been observed on October 4. the day dedicated to St. Francis cf Assisi. In the Dominion the practice has been to set aside one week for the purpose and on Monday a series of addresses, sermons and lectures will be commenced.
