29 SHIPS SUNK
TWO JAPANESE DFSTROYERS LONDON, Sept. 19 Twenty-nine more Japanese ships, including two destroyers, have been sunk by American submarines operating in the Pacific. Besides the destroyers one large cargo transport, 13 medium cargo vessels, nine small cargo vessels, one escort vessel and three medium tankers were sunk.
A Navy communique says that the United States mine-sweeper Perry was sunk as a result of enemy action off the Palau Islands. The casualties were small. The auxiliary transport Noa was sunk recently in the. Pacific as a results# a collision witl||»destroyer. There were no casualties.
