Major J. W. Reynolds, who has been awarded the D. 5.0., is the son of Mr and Mrs T. G. Reynolds, of Union Street, Claudelands. He arrived back in New Zealand this week on furlough, after four years’ service in the Middle East. Leaving as a second-lieutenant with the Third Echelon, Major Reynolds saw action in Greece and was subsequently wounded during the famous El Alamein break-through. Later he returned to the Division as G. 3 and participated in the Axis capitulation in Tunisia. He then attended the senior staff school at Haifa, subsekently rejoining the 24th Battalion at Cassino,
