FRANKTON STOCK SALE The yarding 1 of prime ox b«f at the Frankton slock sale today was not up to average numbers and prices showed an improvement of about los a head for tops compared with last week’s rates. Lighter weights were present in average numbers and made around about late rates. Store cattle were yarded in average numbers, with prices showing little improvement over recent rates lor the most forward sorts. The best price for prime ox over the early sales was £l3 73. Others made from £l2 5s to £l3 3s, and lighter sorts £ll to £ll 15s. More sheep pens were occupied than usual, with a particularly strong entry of fat lambs, Including some top duality pens. Heavy lat wethfT? made to 32s 3d, heavy fat ewes 21s to 2 2s, and best lambs 26s 9d to 30s. These were the best prices over the early sales. The yarding of pigs or all classes was about on a par with the yarding a week ago and there was keen competition Tor best grades, but prie** genprallv were on a par with those ruling last week. Beat baconers over the early sales were quoted at £4 15s to £5 is, porkers to £3 10s, and choppers to £5 15s.
