NEW SOUTH WALES PAYMENT (Received May 20, 2.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 20 The New South Wales State Government has decided to pay a special subsidy of Id a gallon on milk delivered in Sydney and Newcastle. This decision has been made in response to the dairymen’s demand for Id a gallon subisdy to supplement the Federal grant of 2sd. Because the Federal Government h?.d refused to pay 3£d as recommended by the milk board, the dairymen had threaiened to withhold milk supplies. The State grant will be paid until the completion of the federal Government inquiry into the dairying industry to find out whetner the extra payment is warranted. The 35th annual Rotary Convention elected Mr Richard H Wells, of Posatell o, Idaho, president of Rotary International in succession to Mr Charles Wheeler, of San Francisco. Delegates included representatives irom New Zealand, Australia Bi itain.
