GENERALS CONFER

DE GAULLE WELL SATISFIED (Received May 20, 3.15 p.m.) LONDON, May 19 Reuter’s Algiers correspondent reports that General Maitland Wilson is in Italy. General de Gaulle returned to Algiers today after a three-days’ visit tc Italy for an inspection of the victorious French troops on the Fifth Army front and conferences with General Maitland Wilson, General Alexander and General Clark. General de Gaulle said he was most satisfied. “The ground our troops and our Allies have taken, the number of Germans taken prisoner and the amount of material captured speak for themselves,” he said.
