TONIGHT’S PROGRAMMES THEATRE ROYAL Some of the brightest comedy of the season should be provided in “You re Telling I." which opens its Hamilton run the Theatre Royal tonight. It is notable as the first production in which .Toe E. Brown and Judy Canova. two of the screen’s most talented funmakers, have been co-starred. Both players are provided with roles that lend themselves to uproarous comedy and it cannot be said that they have failed to take full use of their opportunity. RCV» THEATRE A feast for eye and ear is provided in 20th Cepturv-Fox’s latest musicale. "Weekend -in Havana,’’ which heads the new programme at the Roxy Theatre. In a romantic background whose beauty is enchanced by the use of glorious technicolour is played out a fascinating story, interpreted by Alice Faye, John Payne, Cesar Romero and the ever-popular Carmen Miranda. The supporting film is “The Man Who Returned to Life.” STATE THEATRE The flaming frontiers of the old West form the picturesque background to “Indian Nation,” in which the leading roles are filled by Richard Dix, Andy Clyde. Victor Jory and Florence Rice. In contrast the supporting film, “Hurry, Charlie. Hurry,” is bright comedy, with the well-known actor, Leon Errol, contributing most of the humour. REGENT THEATRE Since their hilarious debut in “Buck Privates” nearly three years ago Lou Costello and Bud Abbott have made a succession of entertaining comedies, which have been received with enthusiasm everywhere. For their latest frolic the inimitable pair have chosen a musical ice carnival as their setting. Possessing negatives which identify the authors of a bank robbery they find themselves in some ticklish situations. CIVIC THEATRE “Bombardier,” starring Pat O’Brien and Randolph Scott, is enjoying an extended season at the Civic Theatre. It tells in dramatic fashion the “inside story” of America’s great secret weapon, the Norden Bombsight, and how that nation came to adopt it. Ann Shirley and Eddie Albert fill important subsidiary roles. Another of the ever-popular Walt Disney Cartoons, "Chief Donald,” is a feature of the strong supporting programme.
