ATTACKS IN AEGEAN SEA
GERMAN SUPPLY VESSELS (OfHci.il Wireless) (Received Jan. 17, 1 p.m.) RUGBY. Jan. 16 In the past few days Middle East aircraft have added to their previous successes against shipping attempting to supply the enemy in the occupied islands in the Aegean area, states a Middle East air communique. On January 13 escort vessels and two luggers were attacked northeast of Shydra, and left on fire and j out of control. Two launches in the ' south-west Aegean were attacked, I one catching fire. I The same day shipping in Rhodes 1 harbour and gun-posts and enemytroops in the vicinity were attacked. ; Next day four sailing ships in a har- | hour in Paros Island were bombed. ; When the aircraft left a large fire i was burning and a pall of smoke was obscuring the ships. ’ On Saturday a series of low-flying j attacks was made on sailing vessels
