FRANKTON STOCK SALE

SELLERS OUTNUMBER BUYERS Sellers at the Frankton sale yesterdav seemed to be more numerous than buyers, the long spell of dry weather having caused owners to send in prime and nearprime cattle and sheep for absolute sale rather than let them go back in condition. The yarding or prime cow and heirer beef was larger than for some time past and there was also a good yarding of ox beef. Some excellent quality animals were penned and bidding Tor these was keen. The sheep pens were fuller than at recent sales, while there was a moderate penning or pigs. The Auctioneers report as followsSheep: A heavy yarding or Tat sheep was penned. Prices for heavy prime wethers w-pre a shade easier, but light weight wether? sold readily at full late rates. Quotations for ewes were on a par with recent sale?. Owing to the difficulty in securing killing space at the works price? for fat lambs were easier. Cattle.- A full yarding of ox beer was penned, and with only a limited enquiry values were again easier. Cow and ne'irer beef was also yarded In full numbers, and here also values declined. Value? remained steadv for a medium offering of veal. Pigs- A very large yarding or fat pigs came forward. Competition for baconers was very keen, values being fully up to recent quotations. The demand for unfinished baeoners and porkers was not as keen a? at other sales, price? easily slightly.
