SHIPS AND PLANES DESTROYED LONDON, Nov. 7 In the year since the great Allied landings were made in North Africa the North African Air Forces have compiled a good record. They have destroyed 6000 aeroplanes (half in combat and half on the ground), sunk 185 ships aggregating 173,000 tons and damaged 500,000 tons of shipping. They dropped nearly 100,000 tons of bombs.
