ABSENTEE VOTES

HAMILTON ELECTORATE Over 1000 postal and absentee votes have yet to be taken into consideration in the Hamilton contest for Parliamentary honours, and while at the present stage 'the National candidate, Mr F. Findlay, is leading the sitting member, Mr C. A. Barrell, by a majority of 231 votes there is the possiblity that the final count may reverse the position. Postal votes totalling 236 are to hand, and absentee votes yet to come in are estimated at 842. These will not be counted until after the official count, which will not be completed before next week.
