NO WONDER NATIONALISTS SAY

Yes, it WAS Mr Holland who said in 1935—“1 cannot see how we can offer every unemployed man a job at standard pay, with full time employment, as Labour promises to do.” And it IS Mr Holland who proclaims the National Party policy—- “ Every man is entitled as of right to well paid creative employment.” Yes, it WAS Mr Holland who said in 19°”—“On the present basis the Social Security Scheme is applied lunacy.” And it IS Mr Holland who declares that the National Party would now maintain Social Security. Yes, it WAS Mr Holland who said in 1935—“1 am an out-and-out supporter of the present Government.” The depression Government And it IS Mr Holland praising the National Party policy statement—- “ The conditions of the depression prevailing in 1931-35 need not and shall not be allowed tc happen again.” The conversion of the National Party overnight is not a very convincing performance. But it does prove that the National Party has been consistently wrong and the Labour Party consistently right. Labour beat a depression and built prosperity. And Labour, under the leadership of Peter Fraser, will keep it that way. If you want New Zealand secure, prosperous, happy and free from the shadow of fear and want—vote Labour again! 1043
