Mr A. J. Thomas, of Christchurch, is at the Commercial Hotel. Mr F. A. Campbell, of Auckland, is a visitor to Hamilton. Mr R G. Hodges, of Whakatane, is staying at the Hamilton Hotel. Mr M T. B. Hall, of Gisborne, is at the Commercial Hotel. Louis Mountbatten has been appointed a Companion of the Order of the Bath, says a message from London. Dr. W. A. Riddell. High Commissioner for Canada in New Zealand, has returned from a visit to Australia. Messrs W. McDonald and S. Dustin, of Wanganui, are visiting Hamilton and are staying at the Hamilton Hotel. Mr A. Price, formerly manager of the Mayfair Theatre in Christchurch, which was damaged by fire recestly, has taken up the managership of the State Theatre, Hamilton. Mr H. H. B. Jones, manager of the Perth branch of the Bank of New South Wales, has been appointed Melbourne manager. Mr Jones was acting inspector for the bank in New Zealand in 1934, and later was inspector in Australia before his appoinment to Perth. Mr J. A. West, manager of the National Bank in Palmerston North, has been appointed inspector at the general manager’s office in Wellington. Mr W. L. Booth, manager of the Whangarei branch, will succeed Mr West in Palmerston North early in November.
