CRICKET MATCH AT LORDS (Received June 15, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 14 A holiday crowd of about 20,000 at the Royal Air Force versus Army cricket match at Lords saw the New Zealander, Leading-Aircraftman K. James, who was the Royal Air Force wicket-keeper, catch the first four Army batsmen, all off the bowling of Flight-Lieutenant Austin Matthews. The Army declared at eight wickets for 168 runs. The Royal Air Force had 95 minutes in which to make 169, and beat the clock by 10 minutes to win by nine wickets. Sergeant L. G. Berry and Squad-ron-Leader W. J. Edrich staged a whirlwind unfinished stand, putting on the last 114 runs in 44 minutes. The scores were: Army, eight wickets for 168 runs declared—Major A. B. Sellers 35. Matthews took five wickets for 41 runs. Royal Air Force, one wicket for 169 runs— Berry (not out) 73, Edrich (not out) 53.
