MINE IDLE FOR DAY

MEN’S PROLONGED MEETING A prolonged stop-work meeting of miners working in the Pukemiro mine yesterday resulted in work being abandoned for the rest of the day. The meeting began before the hour for commencing work and lasted a good deal longer than usual. The stop-work meeting was the ordinary monthly meeting of employees to discuss union affairs, and no industrial dispute was involved. The miners resumed work at the usual hour today.
