GERMAN PLANS

TO COUNTERACT INVASION I United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyrlg-nt) LONDON, June 12 A “preventive” landing of a shock force in Britain and a mine-laying campaign by 2000 planes figure largely in the German anti-invasiun plans, says the Berlin correspondent of the Stockholm newspaper Svenska Dagbladet. The Germans propose to lay a colossal number of mines off the south coast of England in gigantic night operations by a fleet of motorboats and other craft. An enormous concentration of planes will be used for mine-laying and bombing. “The Aegean islands are being converted into fortresses in readiness for an invasion,” says the Berlin news agency. “The defences include concrete blockhouses, barbed wire entanglements and artillery.” Messages from Ankara say that intense German defence measures in Yugoslavia suggest that Hitler is preparing for Italy’s eventual elimination as a combatant. The Todt organisation for the preparation of defensive lines is fortifying Yugoslavia’s entire Adriatic coastline. The puppet Croatian Government is reported to have been reorganised to include a number of Germans.
