LATE HON P. K. PAIKEA

TRIBUTES OF RESPECT The body of the late Hon. P. K. Paikea. Minister in charge of the Maori War Effort and M.P. for Northern Maori, was brought to Ngaruawahia this morning from Wanganui, escorted by a party of Ratana Maoris. The body is to lie in state at the Ngaruawahia Pa until tc.morrow morning, when it will be conveyed by train, accompanied by representative Maoris from the Wanganui and Waikato districts, to Auckland. There will be further Maori ceremonies at Orakei and a general tangi, and late on Sunday afternoon the public will have an opportunity of paying respects. On Monday the body will be conveyed to its final resting place.
