BISMARCK SEA VICTORY (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Monday Following is the text of a message from the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, to the Prime Minister of Australia, Mr Curtin:— “Will you please convey to General MacArthur on behalf of the Government and people of New Zealand a message of warmest congratulations on the decisive victory of his forces in the Bismarck Sea. This action has undoubtedly contributed in considerable measure toward lessening the immediate menace threatening Australia and New Zealand and is an important step toward victory in the Pacific.”
