WAIKATO MEN WIN SPRINTS Precision and coniiclence were the keynotes of the divisional army sports held at Ru.%y Park, Whangarei. on Saturday aiteinoon. Under a glaring sun, which a breeze did little to temper, conditions were trying tor soldiers drilling strenuously in full kit, yet every item was performed creditably. Three bands were in attendance, two being military, the other the Whangarei and County Pipe Band. The Divisional Commander (MajorGeneral Wilder) made the awards, presenting a huge " blood-stained ” battleaxe to the winning regiment, Auckland, who gained 36 points. Runner-up was Hauraki with 29. The next two -were A.E.C.M.R. (25) and Waikato (21), while Brigade Headquarters was last with 6.
